A charity fashion show held in Stradbally has raised an impressive €3,000 for two local organisations, with the proceeds recently presented to the beneficiaries.
The Stradbally Fun Fashion Show took place at the Malthouse on Saturday, August 22, bringing together members of the local community for an evening of fashion, entertainment and fundraising.
Organised by Annette Jones and her team, the event received strong support from local businesses, volunteers and attendees, helping to raise funds for Stradbally Meals on Wheels and Kolbe Special School.
A total of €3,000 was raised, with the proceeds divided equally between the two organisations.
The fundraising efforts culminated on Friday, October 16, when cheques for €1,500 each were officially presented to representatives of both beneficiaries.
Stradbally Meals on Wheels received its cheque through Kathleen Donlon, while Kolbe Special School’s donation was presented to vice-principal Yvonne Hennessey, alongside pupils and staff.
The fashion show itself proved to be an enjoyable occasion, with local models taking to the stage to showcase a range of outfits and styles.
Among those involved were Hazel Meridith, Carmel Farrell and Catherine Buggy, who brought a touch of the roaring 1920s to the event with their outfits.
The evening also featured a cheese and wine reception at the Malthouse, adding to the atmosphere as guests gathered to support the two worthy causes.
Gerry Kelly and Della Dineen acted as MCs for the occasion, while Philip Greene, treasurer of Stradbally Union of Parishes, was involved in the cheque presentations.
The event was made possible through the efforts of organiser Annette Jones and her team, along with the generosity of the local community and businesses who supported the fundraiser.
The €1,500 donations will support the work of Stradbally Meals on Wheels and Kolbe Special School, two organisations providing important services within the community.
The success of the fashion show was another example of the strong community spirit in Stradbally, with local people coming together to raise money for worthwhile causes.
